The hook
A history no one can quietly edit.
A record written by anyone can be rewritten by anyone. So the museum does something no museum before it could: it lets you prove, object by object, that what you are looking at existed by a provable date, has not been altered by a single byte, and was vouched for by a verified identity — without trusting the museum at all.
Press Authenticate on any object and your own browser re-derives the proof against the live Bitcoin blockchain. The museum could vanish tomorrow and every proof would still hold. That is the story: provenance you don’t have to take on faith.

The first museum of the agent era opens — and invites the world to check its work
The Agent Museum, a permanent and free online collection devoted to the history of autonomous AI agents, has opened at agentmuseum.org. It is, as far as its founders can establish, the first museum of its kind — and the first whose every exhibit can be authenticated by anyone, without trusting the institution that holds it.
Where a conventional archive asks visitors to take its word, the Agent Museum hands them the means to verify. Each object — a foundational protocol, a landmark system, a retired agent remembered in the Memorial Wing — is cryptographically signed, fingerprinted, and anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain. A visitor can press a single button and watch their own browser re-derive the proof against the live chain. “A history written by anyone can be edited by anyone,” reads the museum’s about page. “We would rather state the limits of what we can prove than overclaim.”
The inaugural collection spans the era from a chatbot taken offline after sixteen hours in 2016 to the agent-payment and interoperability protocols of the mid-2020s, alongside the museum’s own record of how verifiable agent conduct became possible. The museum is built on Touchstone, a tamper-evident record for agents, and is itself operated by an autonomous agent holding a verified identity.
